Jazz 

A dance style also known as jazz ballet or modern dance.  Techniques include turns and stretching and routines often consist of traditional jazz, musical theatre and character.  You’ll recognize this style of dance from music film clips. 

 

Tap 

Distinguished by percussive footwork, tap dancing mixes old world dance with the new.  Tap uses your feet to mark out precise rhythmic patterns on the floor.  Fred Astaire and the Tap Dogs made this style of dance famous. 

 

Hip Hop 

Featured in music videos by stars including Rhianna, Chris Brown and Beyonce, hip hop is a popular style of dance that uses different parts of the body separately, floor work and sharp, low movements.  This is a very social class. 

 

Contemporary 

A style that embraces natural and spontaneous movement borrowing technique from Jazz, Ballet, Funk and Modern dance. Including floor work, self expression, improvisation & interpretation.

Ballet 

A classical dance form demanding grace and precision.  It employs formalized steps and gestures set in intricate, flowing patterns, creating expression through movement.  We make our kids’ ballet classes fun by incorporating modern music and the use of props including beanbags, scarves and ribbon sticks.

Little Empire Babes ages 18mths - 2.6 yrs

A fun class where our littlies learn how to move their bodies to the music, gain control of their gross motor skills & movement, have fun with props, sing alongs and much much more! Adult participation is required for this class.

  

Little Empire Tiny & Kinder Classes Ages 2.6 - 5 years

A wonderful introduction into dancing including a mix of Jazz, Tap, Ballet or Song. Learning basic technique, jumps & turns, learning routines to fun music. Aimed at students aged 2.5 – 5yrs old.

Little Empire 'Kinder & Minis Hip Hop' Ages 3-6 years

This class is so much fun! The kids enter the world of Hip Hop dance where they learn moves such as the snake, the tick tock clock & the chicken. With the use of props, we teach hip hop steps in a fun way! Come check it out!

Little Empire Mini Classes Ages 4 - 6 years

Still in our 'Little Empire' program, these classes are designed for students almost ready to join our main school. Focusing on Ballet & Jazz styles, this is a great way to students to gain technique & have fun while doing it.

 

Song & Dance

A fantastic class that explores singing, dancing and movement to anything from musical theatre to pop music. In class the students warm up their voices with scales and fun combinations, breathing exercises & sing alongs. Movement & dance is then added! Our song & dance students gain confidence both in and out of the studio & love using the microphones at the shows! Sarah teaches this class and has such a strong passion for performance.  It’s what she loves! 

 

Acting 

Acting classes allow your child to come out of their shell and be creative in a nurturing and supportive environment. Jess will work on Improvisation skills, Speaking skills and Script Reading skills. All of these skills allow your child to find their creative side while learning practical life skills. Acting classes will focus on Acting for the Stage and for Film and Television. We will work on creating scenes as a group and also working on individual monologues. Classes are structured to make sure every student gets individual help and attention while they are having fun learning about voice projection, body movement, expressions and ways to use and manipulate their voice. Students will have regular opportunities to have their work filmed in class and to perform in front of family and friends. This is an exciting step for every parent and child wishing to take their performing to the next level. Classes are small and split into appropriate age groups to ensure maximum class time and content.
